Lacoste
Rene Lacoste was not a natural tennis player, but with his drive & determination, he became the worlds top tennis player in 1926 & 1927. On the courts he was given the nickname 'le crocodile' which is where the crocodile symbol originates from. His second career was established in 1933 when he began producing the revolutionary polo shirt that he had been wearing on the courts as opposed to the traditional long sleeved, stiff collared shirts. This was the first performance clothing created. Now the lacoste brand is huge, and there is a complementary range of fragrances & aftershaves which reflect his energetic, dynamic & inspiring nature.
