Burberry
Burberry's famed signatures are the trench coat and the red-black-and-beige check. Burberry London, the brand's core collection, combines clean lines with classic sensibility, for clothes and accessories that are striking in their simplicity. Founded in 1856 by Thomas Burberry, the company invented water-resistant gabardine-the foundation stone of their famed trench coats-in 1888. The label has a long association with the British armed forces. In fact, it was the coats worn in the trenches of World War I that subsequently became known as trench coats. Burberry trenches have since been worn by everyone from Hollywood detectives to Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly.
